We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Director to lead our tax strategy and compliance functions. This is a high-impact role for a tax professional with deep expertise in individual, corporate, M&A, and trust and estate matters. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all tax-related matters, including income, corporate, trust, and partnership taxes.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to ownership and executive leadership on tax and financial matters, including trust and estate considerations, investment structures, and philanthropic planning
- Lead tax planning and strategy development to optimize financial outcomes and support business objectives.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation, review, and filing of tax returns, including coordination with third-party tax preparers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws to ensure full compliance and capture potential benefits.
- Assist in managing tax audits and resolving disputes as necessary.
- Support and manage relationships with service providers, ensuring that tax strategies align with the broader organizational goals.
- Provide guidance on complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Uphold confidentiality and accuracy in all tax matters while delivering high-quality results.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
- CPA preferred.
- MST (Master of Science in Taxation) is a plus.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in tax compliance, planning, and financial advisory.
- Strong technical proficiency in individual and corporate tax matters.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement tax strategies and assess financial risks and opportunities.
- Strong relationship-building skills and professional presence; capable of serving as a trusted advisor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
